Description
** Produced for the 1851 Great Exhibition, a similar folding handle example can be seen on the cover of One Man, One Rod at The British Engineerium (pub. 1982) and detailed as item 186 in the catalogue, though, incorrectly stated in the description as being solid silver, this example and the other two we are aware of having been made for the exhibition were produced as heavily silver plated examples. The London tackle maker John King Farlow operated from the 5 Crooked Lane address for the relatively short period of 1843-1856
