228 A rare Allcock Britannia 4 ½” centre pin reel,

caged ebonite drum with twin tapered horn handles, face port with twin drum release/tension adjusting wheel and raised brass spindle boss, brass stancheon foot, alloy  backplate with sliding brass optional check button and calliper spring check mechanism, faceplate stamped “patent”, reel is in good overall condition and a very rarely seen size, circa 1915 (see illustration)
