The following 22 lots are the second and final offering of lots from the estate of the late Chris Ball (1946-2023), one of the most noted carp anglers of the last 50 years, historian, archivist, author, presenter and quite simply, one of the most likeable and knowledgeable individuals to be found in the world of modern carp fishing. Inducted into the Carp Hall of Fame in 2011, he was also a former President of the Carp Society. Chris will perhaps be best remembered for his encyclopedic knowledge of the history of modern carp fishing, the men and the tackle they used. As an auctioneer, and personal friend of more than 25 years, Chris was always my go to if I ever needed information on the subject of early carp fishing tackle. As a fisherman, he will perhaps be best remembered for taking the art of surface fishing for carp to an entirely new level.
