caged Tufnell drum with twin handle and three screw spring release latch, brass backplate with integral loop eye line guide and rim mounted milled optional check lever , rear milled raised tension adjusting screw, and stancheon brass foot fitted canvas wrist strap with twin stud catches, understood to have been produced by Hardy’s for military use during WW2, circa 1940 (see illustration)
